4 Grounds Maintenance Internships
Gain hands-on experience in all aspects of grounds maintenance and integrated pest management. Assist the professional staff in maintaining several plant collections, formal perennial and annual gardens, heritage orchard, rose garden, demonstration garden and greenhouses of a historic 1916 estate. Gain experience with landscape/hardscape/irrigation installation and GIS/GPS mapping project. Interns will also assist with public events and will be placed in areas to enhance their professional goals. Public programs and maintenance practices emphasize environmental responsibility.
· Workshops and field trip included.
· Credit may be arranged.
· Limited housing available for a small fee.
· Compensation: $8.50 to $11.00/hr depending on experience.
· Position available between April and September, dependent on student's schedule.
Qualifications: Enrolled in B.S. program in Horticulture, Floriculture, Botany, Landscape Architecture or Environmental Science
