Phipps is seeking a full-time Let’s Move Pittsburgh Program Director to facilitate and integrate environmental and policy changes with community partners across the areas of public health, education, food systems, social services and other related fields to better support healthy eating and active living, especially among children ages 0-8 at highest risk for obesity, and their families.  The Program Director will lead the same efforts internally at Phipps, working to:

• Provide leadership and promote integration of existing efforts to improve active living and healthy eating activities by partnering community organizations and serve as an effective collaborator in engaging other groups in the region to partner with Let’s Move Pittsburgh.
• Interface with the Let’s Move Pittsburgh executive committee.
• Develop and maintain community contacts and relationships to maximize collaborative health promotion opportunities.
• Oversee the ongoing development and implement a marketing and education campaign to promote healthy living in the region.
• Facilitate communication related to program goals within each of the identified target sectors (currently parents/caregivers, providers working in early childhood centers, schools, out-of-school and community groups, healthcare organizations and the food, restaurant and beverage industry) and facilitate communication and coordination of program goals between the targeted sectors.
• Oversee the development of the Let’s Move Pittsburgh website, continuing to improve its function as the definitive website in the region for information on childhood obesity and healthy living for children.
• Seek funding support for the Let’s Move Pittsburgh program; provide grant administration oversight and facilitate all grant reporting requirements.
• Coordinate with the national Let’s Grow program and national Let’s Move Museums and Gardens.

The qualified candidate must possess knowledge necessary to administer healthy eating and healthy living programs with children and be an effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively.  Requirements: bachelor’s degree in health-related field with a master’s degree preferred; minimum of 2-5 years of relevant work experience; and a valid driver’s license and consistent access to a vehicle.  Phipps offers a competitive compensation package, strong benefits and unique atmosphere.
