Located at an altitude of 8,200 feet, Betty Ford Alpine Gardens specializes in alpine plants and native mountain perennials. There are three acres of cultivated gardens surrounded by parkland near Vail Village and at the base of Vail Mountain in Colorado's Gore Range.
Betty Ford Alpine Gardens summer internships are full-time (40 hours per week) for twelve weeks, June to August. One position is available in each of the following categories:
EDUCATION & CURATORIAL INTERN
Education intern will work with garden staff on creating and organizing educational opportunities for public such as weekly childrens garden programs, 3rd grade butterfly launch, A Let's Move! vegetable garden, and horticulture therapy programs. Intern will also gain experience on curatorial projects such as identification and documentation of plants in collection using BG-Base software.
