Full-time Horticulturist Position

Chanticleer, a 48-acre innovative public garden in Wayne, PA, seeks a motivated, skilled, and creative professional for a hands-on gardening position.  The successful individual will be responsible for designing, planting and maintaining a specifically assigned area of the garden. 

The position requires leadership, ability to work independently as well as in a team with other staff and/or contractors, and ability to manage one or more assistants.  The position requires a valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 pounds, a Pennsylvania Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s license in category 6 (or ability to get one), and competent operation of a variety of power equipment. 

The successful candidate is organized, independent, with excellent interpersonal skills and work ethic, and interested in working in an environmentally friendly garden.  Applicants should have completed formal training in horticulture or a related field and have a minimum of three to five years work experience.
