About the Garden Evolution Conference
Imagine a tree turned inside out. Heavy wood ribs give it stature and strength and a green skin covers cells that gather and store water. Its leaves have turned into protection predators and it can hold its breath all day.

It’s a saguaro! They thrive here in the Sonoran Desert and this May you have the opportunity to see thousands of saguaros and other plants that have evolved or adapted to the harsh desert environment.
All of our gardens have been evolving since opening to the public.
We’ve had to adapt our missions, grow new exhibits and develop ways to attract new audiences.
We’ve been faced with circumstances that challenge our ability to stay alive, yet we are here. How’d we do it?
By evolving and adapting what we do.
Our goal with The Garden Evolution Conference is to share with each other how we’ve been able to thrive.
Join us in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, one of the world’s most diverse ecosystems, teeming with plants that have been shaped by evolution and forced by natural selection to not only survive, but to thrive in a stressful environment. Come engage in the process and “naturally select” The 2013 Garden Evolution Conference.
