Association Communities promote networking among public garden professionals sharing common interests and advance the mission of the Association. Communities are discipline-focused, bringing together garden representatives for information sharing and networking opportunities.
The Association's Council of Communities consists of the Chairs and Vice-Chairs of the Association's Professional Communities and their Staff Liaisons.

Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Accessibility (IDEA) Committee
The American Public Gardens Association’s IDEA Committee is dedicated to finding, evaluating and creating diversity resources for the Association through an equitable, diverse, accessible, and inclusive culture where the contributions of all community members are valued, respected and appreciated. The Committee seeks to encourage and support the Association and member gardens in creating this same culture within their own institutions by consistently re-examining our professional values, modify our existing practices and remove barriers to being diverse and inclusive. Annual projects focus on the development and implementation of resources, effective practices, and methodologies so that we may have lasting collective impact on our shared vision for the future. Program Selection Committee
The goal of the Program Selection Committee is to create an engaging, relevant, timely, and quality program for the American Public Gardens Association Annual Conference each year. It consistently achieves this outcome by soliciting, reviewing, and supporting the program submissions made by the Association’s membership.
Program Selection Committee members come from varied backgrounds, experiences, and roles within public gardens. As leaders, they represent a diversity of regions, garden/budget sizes, and types of institution. While Committee members typically specialize in a “program track” that relates to their skills and expertise, they are chosen to represent diversity of thought expressed through presenters and sessions for the Annual Conference.

Editorial Advisory Group
An energetic and diverse group of garden professionals who help shape the contents of Public Garden magazine.
What we do:
Meet quarterly to discuss and approve articles for each issue
Work with authors to review and edit articles corresponding to our area(s) of expertise
Bring relevant, interesting topics forward for discussion
